Privacy policy

This page explains, in plain language, what beeShare knows about you and your files — and what it deliberately never knows.
Local transfers stay local
When you send a file to a nearby device, the bytes travel directly between the two devices over your own network. They never pass through, and are never stored on, beeShare servers. We cannot see those files.
Share links
When you create a share link, the file is uploaded to our storage so the recipient can download it from anywhere. It stays there only until the link expires, is revoked, or its final download completes — then it is deleted. It is served over HTTPS and reachable only through the link; it is not end-to-end encrypted, so treat a share link as private-but-not-secret.
The link address itself is unguessable, and we never publish or index it. Only someone with the link — plus any passcode or email code the sender adds — can open it, and by default the first device to open a link is the only one that can.
Your account
An account stores your email address, an optional display name, and your password — kept only as a strong one-way hash (argon2id). We never store or see your password in plain text.
Devices you sign in with are listed in your account so you can recognize them.
Payments
beeShare Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers — we only keep your subscription status.
Who else touches your data
To run beeShare we rely on a few trusted providers: Stripe for payments, a cloud storage provider that holds share-link files until they expire, and an email provider that delivers your verification, reset and one-time download codes. Each one only handles what its job needs.
Opening a protected download may set a small cookie so the link stays bound to your device, and we remember the language you choose. We don’t use cookies to track you across the web.
Emails we send
We email you to verify your address, reset your password, and — when a sender protects a link with a required email — to deliver one-time download codes. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
Download records
When someone downloads from a share link, we record the download with the visitor’s IP address and browser info to prevent abuse. That IP and browser info is removed after 30 days; only the anonymous download count remains.
Invitations
If you invite friends, your invites page shows who joined — with their email masked. Your friends see only your invite link, never your email.
What we don’t do
We never sell your data, and we collect only what the product needs to work. Free share-link download pages may show ads to keep the free plan free — Pro removes them — and we’ll always name any advertising or analytics partner right here. Beyond that, no third-party trackers.
Your choices
You can revoke or delete any share link at any time — revoking also deletes the stored file. To delete your account and its data, contact us.
